We use Freedom Rangers as our “French Heritage” chicken. They have great flavor and you can cook these more conventionally. They are great roasted, barbqued, braised…anyway YOU like!
Barred Rocks are what we call our “American Heritage”. These are slow growers that taste amazing when slow roasted on a low temperature. We recommend 275* for 1 hour per pound. Amazing, and DIFFERENT!!!
We’ve also used Buff Orpingtons as American Meat birds and they are just as delicious.
Our layer flock consists of Barred Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, Black Star and recently a few White Leghorns.
All our chickens have a GREAT view too!
